Rioja for Your Weekend!

Notes From the Cellar….. For this weekend's featured wine we will be pouring a rich, medium bodied Rioja from one of Spain’s older winemaking family estates. We also still have limited quantities of our special wine sale left- see below! ’13 Familia Eguren Ugarte Crianza, Rioja, Spain- The Eguren family has been making wine since 1870 and are now on their 6th generation of winemakers. All grapes come from their vast estate that boasts older vines and higher elevations that the vines work to secure water and produce grapes of great concentration. The Crianza is predominately Tempranillo with a small amount of Garnacha blended in. Aged for over a year in French & American Oak before spending 6 months in bottle before release, the wine displays a nose of ripe cherry fruit and a palate that expresses its fruity character of of dark cherry, vanilla and toasted oak.
