Wines For Your Weekend!

IMG 3413

Notes From the Cellar…..

With a bit of a cool down for the start of June, we thought we’d open a couple bottles from Willamette Valley where the cool, moderate temperatures help produce wonderful Pinot Noirs and similarly cool climate varietals found in Alsace which allow for well developed fruit characters moderated by freshening acidity. Join us this Friday from 3-6 and Saturday as we sample this Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir.
We have extended our hours until 8:00 Tuesday- Saturday no that summer is here!
‘14 Kings Ridge Pinot Gris, Willamette Valley, OR– As with most Oregon Pinot Gris, this offering is made from the Alsatian style clones, as opposed to the Italian clones (known as Pinot Grigio), resulting in a medium bodied white with aromas of ripe pear, nectarine, and melon. The wine shows a rich palate with great intensity and a long, lingering finish. This is great wine to serve with mild, soft cheeses and many fish dishes.
’14 Brooks Runaway Red Pinot Noir, Willamette Valley, OR- Always a consistent producer of quality wines, Brooks Winery continues their practice of Organic & Biodynamic farming with minimal intervention in their winemaking. Named after a barrel that ‘escaped’ and fell into a creek unharmed after their first harvest, this Pinot is light with bright red fruits and herbs, mouthwatering acidity and very low tannin. Fresh and easy drinking, it is an enjoyable red for hot summer evenings with appetizers or grilled shrimp.
As always take 10% off any 3 wines we are tasting.
On the beer front we have newer arrivals from Down the Road, Rogue, Boulevard, Avery, Oskar Blues, Castle Island, and Von Trapp.
Cheers!
