Wines for a Spring Day!

Notes From the Cellar…..

With a forecast of beautiful Spring weather, we are nothing but optimistic for the season ahead and have been hard at work hunting for new wines for the spring and summer. The make-over is well on its way with lots of new finds filling the shelves and more coming every week! Stop in Friday from 3-6 and Saturday as we sample some new selections perfect for this glorious weekend!
’14 Saget La Pierre “La Petite Perriere” Rosé, Loire Valley, France- Saget La Perrière, one of the premium Loire Valley wineries is renowned for their Sauvignon Blanc expressions from both Sancerre and Pouilly Fumé. Family owned and managed for 9 generations, they source their Pinot Noir grapes from both their estate vineyards as well as from partners in the south. With a pale hue, their Pinot Noir Rosé has delicate aromas of rose petal and red raspberry with a soft palate and fresh acidity. $11.99
’14 Henri Bourgeois, Quincy Haute Victoire Sauvignon Blanc, Loire Valley, France- Of no less renown, the Domaine Bourgeois is now in its 11th generation of family-run winemaking. With vineyards laying on some of the most rugged hillside terrains, offering the best exposures in the Loire Valley, the family strives to showcase the purity of Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir. Likewise producing some of the greatest examples from Sancerre & Pouilly Fumé, the Haute Victoire Sauvignon is sourced from their vineyards just east of Sancerre in Quincy. With citrus and white flower aromas, it has a wonderful, round palate that is well balanced- showing tropical fruits, citrus fruits and clean minerality. $18.99
’07 Rioja Reserva, Castillo de Maetierra, Dominum QP, Spain- Quatro Pagos is a blend of Tempranillo, Graciano and Grenache varieties. The grapes used comes from low yielding, old vines selected from four different districts in Rioja- hence the name Quatro Pagos or ‘Four Estates’. The QP is aged in new French oak barrels between 15 and 18 months and then sees extended aging in bottle. More modern in style, it is intensely aromatic with dark fruits and toast from the oak. Showing its ripe black fruits and dark chocolate on the palate, it is full bodied and meaty, with excellent acidity and integrated tannins on its long finish. $16.99
As always take 10% off any 3 wines we are tasting.
On the beer front we have newer arrivals from Woodstock, Cisco, Von Trapp, Brewmaster Jack, 21st Amendment and Fullers!
Cheers!
